  • Welcome: Questions and challenges we share in common
  • Past Changes and Choices: Stories that Define Us
  • Fact or Fiction: Awareness of realities and myths of aging and retirement
  • Fears and Fantasies: Exploring retirement-age gender differences
  • The Nautilus Cycle: Eight stages of retirement decision-making that help you prepare for the next phase of life
12:15 p.m. - 1 p.m. Lunch
1:15 p.m. - 4 p.m. Workshop sessions:
  • Mansions of the Soul: Shifting time allocations, values and opportunities in retirement and methods of resolving conflicts
  • Choice of 3 mini-workshops:
    • Regeneration: Examining spirituality, mortality, finitude and meaning of life.
    • Relocation: Invigorate friendships, activities, passions and family relationships by moving to new home or community
    • Revocation: Energize a career or begin another with new skills development, routines and interests
4 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Free time
6:30 p.m. Reception at the Reuter Center
7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Group Dinner at Reuter Center


Saturday

Workshop sessions:
  • Reality Testing: Meet and question a panel of retirees who have made the leap into retirement
  • Money Insights You Won't Get from Your Financial Advisor: Consider your personal relationship to money, spending priorities, lifestyle enhancement, appetite for risk, security needs, leaving a legacy, and more
  • Case study: Solve classic conflict scenarios involving decision making and preparation for uncertainty
12 p.m. - 1 p.m. Lunch

1 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.





2:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Workshop sessions:
  • Looking Inward, Planning Outward: Map your individual profile, probe relationships, explore your dreams and consider ways to restructure your life to reach your goals. Small groups to discuss areas of potential change, values transitions and obstacles.
  • Creating a Plan: Plan for the next stage of your life using principle/tenets of retirement and planning handouts Start to formalize your next steps.
3:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Free time
6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. Gala, locally hosted social and dinner party


Sunday

9 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.






11:45 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.
Workshop sessions:
  • Your Path; Your Plan: Use what your have learned to detail your retirement plan. Find stimulation and joy in sharing your next steps with the group.
  • Spiral of Change Revisited: A reprise of the Nautilus Cycle
  • Wrap Up of Workshop: Question and answer period and workshop evaluation
12:15 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. Lunch and Departure for Home
